About the role
The NAV ERP Manager will own and manage the integrity, performance, and continuous improvement of the MPS/MRP process in Microsoft Dynamics NAV across BURN Manufacturing's stove operations. The role combines functional planning expertise with strong NAV technical capability to ensure the ERP system supports effective production planning, material availability, inventory control, and issue resolution.
This position is critical in aligning system capability with business needs across planning, procurement, production, inventory, and operations. The successful candidate will act as both a system process owner for planning In NAV and as the go-to technical support lead for NAV-related operational issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
- MPS /MRP Process Ownership in NAV
- Lead and manage the end-to-end Master Production Scheduling(MPS) and Material Requirements Planning(MRP) processes within Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
- Ensure planning parameters in NAV are correctly configured and maintained, including:
- lead times
- reorder policies
- safety stock parameters
- lot sizing rules
- replenishment systems
- demand planning inputs
- forecast consumption logic
- Drive system discipline to ensure MPS/MRP outputs are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business requirements.
- Review and optimize planning master data to improve system-generated proposals and minimize planning exceptions.
- Support the monthly, weekly, and daily planning cycles by ensuring NAV generates effective purchase, production, and transfer recommendations.
- Monitor and improve the quality of system outputs related to supply plans, shortages. Excess stock, and production scheduling.
- Work closely with planning, procurement, production, warehouse, and inventory teams to translate operational needs into ERP process improvements.
- Ensure planning transactions and system processes are executed according to standard operation procedures.
- Identify and resolve root causes of MRP instability, including inaccurate master data, BOM issues, routing issues, inventory discrepancies, and transactional discipline gaps
- NAV Functional and Technical Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for NAV-related issues affecting planning, inventory, procurement, manufacturing, and related functions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve NAV issues raised by users, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Analyze system errors, process failures, and data inconsistencies, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Provide hands-on support for NAV functional setup, issue diagnosis, testing, and user guidance.
- Liaise with internal IT teams, external NAV consultants, and developers where deeper technical intervention is required.
- Translate business issues into technical requirements and ensure solutions are properly implemented and tested.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, patches, and change requests related to NAV.
- Maintain documentation of recurring issues, root causes, fixes, and process controls.
- Master Data Governance
- Ensure the integrity of planning and inventory-related master data in NAV, including:
- Item cards
- BOMs
- Routings
- Vendor parameters
- SKU classifications
- Replenishment settings
- Production and warehouse parameters
- Develop and enforce governance standards for data creation, maintenance, and change control.
- Conduct regular audits of critical data fields impacting MPS/MRP performance.
- Work with stakeholders to correct data inaccuracies affecting planning and execution.
- ERP Improvement and Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve ERP-supported planning and inventory processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance:
- Inventory health
- Material availability
- Plan accuracy
- Service levels
- System usability
- Recommend and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting tools within NAV.
- Partner with business teams to redesign workflows to improve ERP effectiveness.
- Support development of dashboards and KPIs for monitoring planning and ERP performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and IT teams.
- Ensure alignment between ERP planning logic and actual operational realities.
- Train and guide users on proper NAV transaction discipline and best practices.
- Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
- Reporting, Controls and Compliance
- Monitor key planning and ERP performance indicators such as:
- MRP exception levels
- Stock-outs due to planning failure
- Excess and obsolete inventory risks
- Master data accuracy
- System issue resolution lead time
- Planning adherence
- Prepare reports and insights for management on ERP planning performance and system-related risks.
- Ensure planning processes in NAV are controlled, documented, and auditable.
- Support internal controls and compliance across ERP transactions impacting inventory and supply planning.

Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Operations Management, or related field
- ERP or Microsoft Dynamics certification is an advantage
- 5–8 years of experience in ERP management, supply chain planning, or manufacturing systems
- Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV in manufacturing
- Strong experience with MPS/MRP, production planning, and inventory control
- Experience supporting ERP users in fast-paced environments
- Manufacturing/FMCG/industrial experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (configuration, transactions, support)
- Understanding of:
- MPS/MRP logic
- Demand and supply planning
- Production orders
- BOMs and routings
- Purchase planning
- Warehouse and stock movement transactions
- Ability to investigate and resolve NAV issues (functional and basic technical level)
- Understanding of ERP data structures, master data dependencies, and transaction flows
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Ability to support UAT, system testing, documentation, and change implementation
- SQL or NAV development knowledge is an added advantage
- Strong NAV technical + functional expertise
- Deep understanding of production planning, MPS/MRP, and inventory processes
- Able to troubleshoot system issues and understand operational impact
- Capable of owning planning processes and improving system efficiency
