BURN is hiring a Senior MRV Country Coordinator to strengthen oversight and coordination of high-frequency MRV and carbon projects across Ghana, ensuring consistent data quality, timely delivery, and compliance with carbon standards.
The role is critical to managing complex field data collection, supervising MRV teams, and operationalising efficient project coordination as BURN expands its carbon project footprint in the country. This position will also support cost discipline, stakeholder engagement, and alignment of local MRV outputs with regional business and carbon strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordination of Data Acquisition:
- Support the Regional MRV Manager with proximal supervision of all field data collection teams across Ghana.
- Guide the MRV Teams in execution of various studies, including feasibility studies, baseline and project carbon usage studies, and KPT (kitchen performance tests) studies.
- Utilise contemporary data collection tools and ensure data quality through verification and error correction.
- Implement SOPs and checklists for efficient data collection and analysis.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate several high-frequency, high-quality MRV projects simultaneously.
- Maintain a strategic project calendar and optimise resource allocation.
- Utilise their experience in setting up and operationalising efficient Coordination in Ghana, while expanding the MRV scope in the country.
- Coach upcoming Teams on budgetary discipline and maximising the utility of all resources available to projects.
- Ensure local Teams’ output is aligned with the business strategy.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Escalate to the Regional MRV Manager all issues affecting the delivery of the MRV department’s mandate, while leading efforts to gain localised solutions and best practices.
- Support the Regional MRV Manager with assessment of expected project outcomes and customising training materials to align with those desired outcomes.
- Review and provide best practice approaches to recruiting, mobilization and training field enumerators.
- Act as a close collaboration officer for MRV in relation to broader Burn Teams and Departments.
- Carbon Project Management Roles
- Organise, coordinate, lead, and report on Local Stakeholder Meetings as per the guidelines set by the Carbon Technical Team. This includes but not limited to preparing the budget, planning the timelines for tasks, finding local teams to work with in organizing and facilitating the meetings, putting together the list of participants for the meeting, and preparing translated invitations (newspaper advertisements, radio advertisements, emails, word of mouth, phone calls, etc.), hosting the meeting, providing supporting documents from meetings held.
- Organise, coordinate, lead, and report on Baseline Surveys and Baseline Kitchen Performance Tests as per the guidelines set by the Carbon Technical Team. Coordinate on-the-ground field surveys, recruitment and training of data collectors/enumerators, logistics planning of resources for all field data collection, on-the-ground presence while managing all field data collection activities, etc. These activities may require travel both within the country and internationally.
- Organise, coordinate, lead, and report on Annual Monitoring Surveys, Project Kitchen performance tests, Leakage Surveys, and Water Boiling Tests as per the guidelines set by the Carbon Technical Team. This includes but is not limited to activities such as Planning all timelines for the field research work, Coordinating and managing on-the-ground field data collection surveys, recruitment and training of highly experienced data enumerators/research consultants as the case may be, Logistics planning of resources for all field data collection, on the ground presence while managing all field data collection activities, risk assessment, and management in field research surveys, timely and efficient problem solving, etc.
- Organise all logistics related to all Carbon Audits during Validation and Verification. These include booking households to be audited during audit site visits, accompanying the auditors for the interviews, and ensuring all households meet the standard set by the Carbon technical team on time. This involves, but is not limited to, booking appointments with households selected for the Audit visit, planning all transport and accommodation logistics for the households to be visited, etc.
- Communication of Results from Set Goals and targets to the Carbon Project Implementation Manager on the agreed-upon frequency.
- Carrying out specific one-off special carbon assignments falling outside the scope of the existing JD.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Data Quality: Achieve and maintain consistently high data quality standards across all MRV and Feasibility studies, exceeding established metrics for accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Project Delivery: Deliver projects on time and within budget, meeting established deadlines and milestones with exceptional efficiency and minimal rework.
- Cost Management: Operate a cost-effective MRV department, adhering to budgetary constraints while maximising resource utilisation and achieving optimal value for each project.
- Project Management Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
- Presentations on PPT or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in field data collection and management
- Team Management experience
