Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Auditor, you will:
- Develop and execute risk-based audit plans focusing on carbon credit generation, trading, and compliance processes.
- Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, particularly in project verification and certification processes.
- Assess compliance with international carbon credit standards, such as CDM, VCS, or Gold Standard.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across project development, finance, and legal teams to address audit findings effectively.
- Prepare and present detailed audit reports, including risks and recommendations, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead reviews of emission reduction project documentation, data integrity, and reporting practices.
- Stay updated on global carbon market trends, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior audit staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or relevant qualifications in environmental or sustainability standards.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in internal/external auditing, preferably in the carbon credits, renewable energy, or environmental sustainability industries.
- Strong understanding of carbon credit generation processes, including project development, verification, and certification.
- Proven experience in planning and executing audits independently, particularly in regulatory and compliance environments.
- Experience working with international frameworks like CDM, VCS, or Gold Standard is highly desirable.
- Background in mentoring or leading audit teams is an advantage.

- Proficiency in auditing tools, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
- Expertise in international carbon credit standards like CDM, VCS, or Gold Standard.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to analyze and present complex data.
