About Role:

BURN is looking for a Technology Engineer to join the Operations Excellence Team to work on New Process Development and Global Expansion Projects and to help set Engineering Standards for the Operations Department.
The individual will be tasked with designing and maintaining Factory Layouts across all of Burn’s Global facilities. They will also be tasked with research, and developing new material handling methodologies, technologies, and systems to eliminate wastes, and to improve the safety, quality, cost, and efficiency of the material handling processes throughout the value stream.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Work as part of a team in new process development projects:
    • Initiation, scoping, concept validation, risk assessment and ROI for the new process.
    • Spec’ing of the required machines, equipment, and tools for the new process.
    • Support technical discussions with international and local vendors.
    • Manage the related communications among all internal and external parties.
    • Plan, monitor, control, and report the progress of the project.
    • Documentation and standardization of the new process/technology.
    • Support the ERP and planning team in creating the phase-in plan for the new process.
    • Support the implementation team with standards, and know-how when needed.
 
  • Leading factory layout projects:
    • Assessment and analysis of the current state layouts.
    • Development of innovative solutions for a better factory layout and material flow.
    • Design and CAD of the future state layouts.
    • Identification, documentation, and standardization of the scope of work of the layout implementation projects.
    • Monitor, control, and report the progress of the layout design projects.
    • Support the implementation team with standards, and know-how when needed.
 
  • Develop best practices, and innovative solutions to improve material handling throughout the value-adding process.
  • Working with BURN’s QA and Engineering departments on process mapping, documentation, and standardization of the engineering processes and factory standards.
  • Assist in building BURN’s manufacturing standards database and technology roadmap.
  • Assist in knowledge and manufacturing standards transfer to new local and global sites.
  • Collaborate with the internal departments to perfectly understand the materials to be handled and the requirements of the material handling process from RM to FG.
  • Assess, evaluate, and analyze the safety, cost, quality, and efficiency of the current material handling processes.
  • Development and standardization of RM, and WIP Kanban systems.
  • Collaborate with BURN’s QA team to develop material handling SOPs.
  • Assist in material handling technology transfer to new local and global sites.

Skills and Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, process, industrial automation engineering or related.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Process Engineering or related.
  • Strong proficiency in using AutoCAD & SolidWorks
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience working in sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • Experience working in high-volume manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in Engineering Project Management preferred.
