About the Role:

The Senior Product Manager – Electric is the strategic leader responsible for driving BURN’s electric product market entry, customer adoption, and product success. This role combines market-facing strategy, customer insights, and operational oversight to ensure that BURN’s electric induction cookers (IDCs) achieve product-market fit and meaningful impact. Acting as the voice of the customer, the Senior Product Manager ensures that customer and market insights directly shape the product roadmap in collaboration with the Product Owner and development teams. 

The role requires a hands-on approach to piloting, validating market assumptions, and refining the economic value proposition for customers in new and existing markets. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry Strategy 

  • Lead and execute the new market entry strategy for electric products, overseeing pilot phases and coordinating with Country Leads and local stakeholders. 

  • Validate market readiness by analyzing infrastructure, fuel spending patterns, and repayment behaviors in residential and commercial segments. 

  • Work with local teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations, certifications, and standards in each market. 

  • Develop customer personas and refine them across each market, including insights into ability and willingness to pay. 

  • Customer Insights and Market Research 

  • Act as the voice of the customer, driving market research initiatives to identify customer needs, pain points, and behaviors. 

  • Develop and own Market Requirements Documents (MRD) to ensure alignment with market demands. 

  • Collaborate with the Strategy and Market Research teams to refine the economic value proposition (EVP) for different customer segments. 

  • Product / Solution Offering 

  • Partner with the Product Owner to align the product roadmap with customer and market insights. 

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure pay-as-you-go (PAYGo) readiness and successful loan repayment in new markets. 

  • Lead product package development, aligning features, pricing, and payment plans with market requirements. 

  • Pilot Leadership 

  • Oversee pilot programs for new markets, ensuring key metrics are met. 

  • Collaborate with local teams to adapt product offerings for cultural and language preferences. 

  • Analyze market and pilot data to continuously refine strategies for product, operations, and marketing. 

  • Maintain documentation on market entry processes, insights, and performance metrics to guide future expansions. 

  • Team and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Provide direction to Pilot Leads and market-specific team members to ensure smooth market operations. 

  • Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, and Customer Support teams to address any issues related to product, payment, or customer engagement. 

  • Act as the key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and seamless execution. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Essential 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on market-facing roles. 

  • Proven ability to lead market entry strategies and manage pilots in emerging markets. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage internal teams, partners, and customers. 

  • Desirable 

  • Experience working in renewable energy, IoT-enabled products, or PAYGo solutions. 

  • Familiarity with market entry strategies and product pilots in emerging markets. 

  • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Miro).
