About the role
Burn is looking for an Assembly Line Engineer who will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and continuously optimizing production lines to ensure balanced workloads across workstations. The goal is to minimize idle time, eliminate bottlenecks, and maintain smooth workflow while meeting production cycle time and demand.
They ensure that each workstation has roughly equal task time so that the entire line operates at maximum efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Line Balancing
    • Analyze tasks required for product assembly.
    • Distribute tasks across workstations so that each station's workload aligns with the production cycle time.
    • Continuously adjust task allocation as production conditions change.
 
  • Workflow Optimization
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the production line.
  • Reduce idle time and unnecessary waiting between stations.
  • Improve overall line efficiency and throughput.
 
  • Production Monitoring
    • Track performance metrics such as:
    • Cycle time
    • Takt time
    • Workstation utilization
    • Throughput rate
    • Ensure the line consistently meets production demand targets.
 
  • Process Improvement
    • Conduct time studies and motion studies.
    • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste.
    • Implement improvements such as workstation redesign, task reallocation, or automation.
 
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies.
    • Provide reports on line performance.
    • Recommend changes to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with:
    • Production supervisors
    • Maintenance teams
    • Quality engineers
    • NPI / Industrial engineers

Skills and Experience
  • Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering knowledge
  • Line balancing techniques
  • Time and motion studies
  • Lean manufacturing (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Production planning & capacity analysis
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in production or assembly line optimization
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
